Culinary Institute by Vejle Erhverv is a partner in the EU project Cities2030, which focuses on creating resilient and sustainable food systems and cities that can act as catalysts for positive changes in local areas.
Cities2030 promotes the co-creation of robust, sustainable, and innovative food systems within the framework of the EU project FOOD2030. By adopting an approach that involves multiple stakeholders, the project designs progressive policies, formulates action plans, and orchestrates experiments involving researchers, businesses, public authorities, civil society, and citizens.
Consumer choices have the power to guide sustainable shifts in the market. Actors in the food system participate in an interdisciplinary alliance and an interactive learning journey that empowers city leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, and experts to collectively create a citizen-centered model.
An observatory is established to perceive the urban food system as a cohesive unit, weaving scattered initiatives into comprehensive policies and pioneering strategies. Additionally, technologically advanced and deployable tools are developed to strengthen innovation in the food chain.
Using results-oriented CRFS (City Region Food Systems) policies and Living Labs, the project drives policy improvements and innovations that steer leadership towards investments facilitating a sustainable transition to CRFS.
